Role Description – Director/Head of Artificial Intelligence
Callsure AI is seeking a visionary and highly accomplished Director of Artificial Intelligence to lead the design, research, development, deployment, and continuous optimization of our AI systems. This executive-level role is responsible for defining the company’s AI strategy, technical roadmap, and research agenda, ensuring Callsure AI remains at the forefront of conversational AI and voice intelligence innovation.
The Director of AI will oversee all core AI domains, including machine learning, deep learning, NLP, speech processing, computer vision, multimodal AI, and predictive analytics. You will architect scalable AI pipelines, guide model selection and training strategies, and drive production-ready implementations using modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, Hugging Face, and ONNX.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the long-term AI vision, strategy, and technical roadmap
- Lead research and applied development in ASR, TTS, speaker diarization, voice biometrics, acoustic modeling, language modeling, semantic parsing, intent classification, dialogue state tracking, and conversational orchestration
- Design, train, and optimize transformer models, sequence-to-sequence architectures, attention mechanisms, embedding models, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and hybrid symbolic–neural systems
- Build and manage end-to-end MLOps pipelines, including data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, validation, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, and continuous retraining
- Collaborate with engineering teams on real-time inference systems, low-latency APIs, scalable backend services, and cloud-native architectures
- Ensure robustness, fairness, interpretability, and security of AI systems using model evaluation metrics, adversarial testing, bias analysis, and explainable AI (XAI) techniques
- Lead, mentor, and scale teams of AI researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and speech engineers
- Align AI initiatives with product, business, healthcare, and regulatory requirements, translating complex technical concepts into measurable business outcomes
- Evaluate emerging research, open-source frameworks, and commercial AI models to maintain state-of-the-art performance

Qualifications
- Deep expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Science with a strong theoretical and applied foundation
- Proven experience in algorithm design, statistical learning, pattern recognition, optimization techniques, and probabilistic modeling
- Advanced proficiency in Natural Language Processing (NLP), including computational linguistics, semantic analysis, syntactic parsing, embeddings, transformers, and conversational AI systems
- Extensive hands-on experience with speech technologies, including ASR, TTS, speech synthesis, speech enhancement, and real-time voice interaction systems
- Strong knowledge of Computer Vision, image processing, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and multimodal learning
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, with working knowledge of C++, Java, or Go
- Experience deploying AI models into production environments across cloud platforms and distributed systems
- Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, including large-scale datasets, data labeling, annotation pipelines, feature stores, and ETL workflows
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing high-performing AI and data science teams
- Excellent problem-solving, system design, project management, and technical communication skills
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field strongly preferred
- Prior experience with AI-driven voice platforms, conversational agents, contact center automation, or healthcare AI systems is a strong plus
- Familiarity with responsible AI practices, data privacy regulations, and enterprise compliance standards is highly desirable
