Senior QA Automation Engineer

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our globally distributed team!

About the Role

We’re looking to hire a QA Automation Engineer to help strengthen and scale the quality engineering function of our client. This role is ideal for someone with strong automation fundamentals who is also comfortable being hands-on with manual testing during a period of time, especially during a transition period where the product and testing infrastructure are stabilizing.

What You’ll Do

• Execute manual functional testing to ensure coverage during a period of change and stabilization
• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites (UI and/or API), with a focus on long-term scalability
• Partner closely with engineering and product to clarify requirements and identify quality risks early
• Help define and improve QA processes, test strategies, and release readiness criteria

• Identify and document defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing pipelines and tooling over time

Qualifications

• At least +6 years of experience working in QA roles
• Hands-on automation experience with Python + Playwright (strongly preferred for at least one hire)
• Strong QA fundamentals: test planning, test design, defect reporting, regression strategies
• Proven experience in manual testing (web applications preferred)
• Solid understanding of test automation principles and best practices
• Ability to operate in a fast-moving environment and adapt testing approaches as systems evolve
• Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across teams

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build/release workflows
• Experience with API testing and test frameworks beyond UI automation
