Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking Process Engineers to support our Process Engineering team at our Promontory, Utah, Clearfield, Utah, and/or our Bacchus (Magna), Utah facilities.

The selected candidate will support the Ammonium Perchlorate (AP), Case, Case Prep, Mix/Cast, Motor Assembly, Nozzle, or Rocket Value Streams.

Role Description & Responsibilities

  • Developing and improving manufacturing processes for the production of energetic products
  • Performing cause and corrective action activities to permanently eliminate defects
  • Working with the concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (i.e. engineering and planning documents)
  • Authoring, updating and reviewing shop floor planning
  • Preparing and presenting technical presentations to VSET, leadership, and the customers for review and approval
  • Performing table-top reviews

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications

Level 2

  • B.S. degree in STEM (Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, or other technical degrees may be considered), 2 years of experience, or 0 years of experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Process Controls (SPC)
  • Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
  • Interpreting blueprints and specifications

Level 3

  • B.S. degree in STEM (Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, or other technical degrees may be considered), 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Process Controls (SPC)
  • Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
  • Interpreting blueprints and specifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing shop planning
  • Experience working with energetic materials and processes.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $123,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
