Job Title: Senior Service Designer Data Analytics & Product Development
Location: Remote
Role Summary:
Support a data center of excellence by designing and prototyping data products and analytics initiatives using human-centered design methods. Work across the organization to deliver data products with agility and innovation, improving access to data assets for policy analysis, program planning, and decision-making. Focus on data product delivery, user experience, and transforming data into corporate assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate human-centered design methods into data product development and delivery
- Conduct discovery, requirements gathering, process mapping, service design, prototyping, and gap analysis for data analytics initiatives
- Analyze data user experiences across channels (pipelines, interfaces, catalogues, architecture); identify gaps and solutions
- Lead user/behavioral research, co-design workshops, prototype testing, and usability testing
- Develop journey maps, service blueprints, process maps, user stories, and roadmap documents
- Create end-to-end data/analytics product service journeys with current and future state mapping
- Co-design new processes and policies with program teams (executives to front-line staff) for change management
- Establish service performance metrics, measurement, and reporting frameworks
- Integrate design features and architectural solutions into existing data service operations

- 8+ years: Creating journey maps and service blueprints or visual representations of user needs
- 8+ years: Facilitating and leading co-design workshops
- 7+ years: Human-centered design approach (UX, customer experience, service design, interaction design)
- 7+ years: Working with digital/data products (data pipelines, user interfaces, catalogues, architecture)
- 7+ years: Service Designer on projects comparable in size/complexity to large-scale government service innovation, program review, or digital transformation
- 7+ years: Analyzing research data and presenting findings in diverse ways
- 7+ years: Creating service metrics and measures
- 7+ years: Moving between detail-level work and whole-system thinking; understanding system relationships
- 7+ years: Planning, conducting, and analyzing behavioral/ethnographic field research to understand user, employee, and government needs
- 4+ years: Working in or for the public sector
