About The Role

As a key member of our development team, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining the ALRT iOS and Android mobile applications. Your primary responsibilities will include adding new features, resolving issues, and enhancing the user experience of our mobile application. You will work within a multidisciplinary team that includes product managers, technical project managers, backend engineers, and QA specialists. Collaborating closely with the Tech Lead and your colleagues, you will help advance our product and contribute to our engineering community. This position is a fully remote position. You can work from your own home, and can expect to meet for in person team meetings twice per year, and up to once every two months as the team grows. This position allows you to make a significant impact by directly contributing to a consumer mobile application that aims to improve people's health and lives. Over time, you will develop into an independent, capable, and confident mobile developer.

• Team collaboration: Work intimately with a diverse team of developers, product managers, biotechnology engineers and testers to build features that prioritize usability, availability, and accuracy.

• Android and iOS expertise: Acquire expertise in both Android and iOS development principles for maintainable and user-friendly applications.
• Issue resolution: Identify, debug, and resolve software issues promptly to maintain application stability and performance.
• Healthy codebase stewardship: Maintain the health of the codebase by actively implementing best practices and innovative solutions for long-term stability.
• Code review: Perform comprehensive code reviews regularly, offering constructive feedback to encourage excellence and ongoing enhancement.
• Active Team Participation: Actively engage in regular team activities such as stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives to ensure alignment and promote agile methodologies.
• Promote Effective Communication: Promote transparent and positive communication among team members and other departments to cultivate a productive and empowering team atmosphere.

What We're Looking For

• Professional mobile app development experience in either iOS or Android: You have 1-3 years of experience developing mobile apps that are effectively designed and implemented.
• Proficiency in iOS or Android development languages, ideally using Xamarin.Forms and C#.
• Experience with mobile development in .Net MAUI or VS Code is a plus.
• Strong software development principles: You have a solid grasp of software development principles and can produce code that is both efficient and easily maintainable.
• Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
• At least intermediate English language skills.
• Experience with Scrum and Agile development principles.
• Self-starter with the ability to work productively both independently and in a virtual team environment with minimal supervision.
• Able to work flexible hours to collaborate with team members from different time zones and cultures.
• Has reliable high-speed internet with appropriate computer for development, testing and documentation.
• Appropriate background check/clearance prior to employment.
• Reference letter from previous employer is a plus.
