Technical Services Engineer (Secret Clearance Required)

We are partnering with a global leader in satellite and tactical communication systems to identify a skilled Technical Services Engineer to support their government and commercial satellite operations. This role will be based in North San Diego with a hybrid work arrangement and up to 50% travel (both CONUS and OCONUS). The right candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, hands-on troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to work independently in fast-paced and high-pressure environments. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a mission-critical space supporting long-term government contracts.

Compensation

• Salary: $150,000 – $190,000 base salary
• Incentives: Bonus eligibility, potential sign-on package, relocation support, and full benefits
  
  

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide remote and onsite support for satellite and ground communication systems involving enterprise Cisco networks and Linux systems
• Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of network hardware and software across remote and local systems
• Deliver technical training and documentation for both internal teams and external users

• Monitor, operate, and maintain L-band networks in line with performance and reliability standards
• Participate in a rotating 24/7/365 on-call support schedule for critical system uptime
• Troubleshoot complex networking issues involving routers, switches, firewalls, and Linux-based servers
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams on system deployments and process improvements
  
  

Candidate Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance (required)
• Security+ Certification (required)
• CCNA or higher-level certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP)
• Strong Linux server administration experience and advanced Cisco networking knowledge
