About the Role

Our client is building a next-generation AI platform that powers large-scale, real-time voice AI agents. Their platform sits at the core of the business, orchestrating LLMs, speech recognition, text-to-speech, telephony, and business logic in ultra-low latency environments.

They are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of backend experience to help evolve and scale this platform. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on Python, while also requiring solid proficiency in Go. You’ll work across the backend stack, helping address current capacity needs and pushing the platform toward enterprise-grade scale and reliability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain backend platform services with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
• Help break down an existing monolithic system into high-performance, well-owned services with stronger test coverage
• Push the platform toward being fully enterprise-grade, including:
• Observability and monitoring
• Compliance and reliability standards
• Multi-region deployments
• Robust and repeatable deployment processes
• Build and maintain real-time AI orchestration pipelines, coordinating:
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR)

• Text-to-Speech
• Telephony systems
• Business logic
• All within tight latency constraints (typically 300–700ms end-to-end)
• Improve developer experience and platform velocity by contributing to:

• Safer, faster deployment workflows

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a backend software engineer
• Strong, hands-on experience with Python in production environments
• Proficiency in Go, with the ability to work confidently across the backend stack
• Experience building and operating high-throughput, low-latency systems
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, APIs, and distributed systems

Nice to Have

• Experience working with AI-driven or real-time systems
• Exposure to cloud-native architectures and containerised deployments

• Hybrid: Relocation to Berlin, with regular onsite collaboration
• Remote: Available, with travel to Berlin a few times per quarter
