Summary
AOI is seeking a Junior System Engineer to support the provisioning, deployment, configuration, and administration of core IT systems and infrastructure. This role will work closely with senior system architects and cybersecurity teams to maintain a secure, stable, and scalable IT environment. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Windows-based systems, networking fundamentals, and end-user support, and is eager to grow in a hands-on enterprise environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the administration and maintenance of Active Directory and Group Policy in collaboration with System Architecture and Cybersecurity teams
- Manage and support Windows Server environments, including patching and Windows updates
- Provide technical support for PCs, servers, VMware ESXi hosts, NAS systems, and video conferencing tools
- Diagnose, repair, and resolve hardware and software issues; communicate effectively with impacted departments
- Support network monitoring, troubleshooting, and outage resolution, escalating issues as needed
- Collaborate with network architects on system and network optimization initiatives
- Research and recommend innovative or automated solutions to improve system administration efficiency
- Maintain accurate system documentation and assist with updates as required by management
- Participate in continuous learning through training, professional publications, and technical communities
- Perform corrective actions for system issues and contribute to operational improvements
- Support additional IT and system-related tasks as assigned

- 1–2 years of experience in Systems, Network, or IT Help Desk support
- Foundational understanding of computer systems and networking concepts
- Knowledge of PC and MS Server configuration
- Familiarity with network routers, switches, and firewalls (hardware and software)
- Basic understanding of system monitoring tools and IT infrastructure
- Experience supporting enterprise IT environments
- Exposure to VMware ESXi, NAS systems, or similar infrastructure
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
- Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Windows Server environments
- Office 365 / Microsoft 365
- Network troubleshooting and proxy servers
- VOIP and video conferencing platforms
