Job Description:

We’re looking for a seasoned SFC-IT Consultant 3 (ITC3) to support a major application modernization initiative for a public-sector client. In this role, you’ll help transform a legacy Perl/MySQL system into a modern, cloud-based application using Java, React, MariaDB, and AWS.

This is a great opportunity for a senior technologist who enjoys architecture, technical leadership, and cloud modernization while working on mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and define system architecture in collaboration with the OFCC Development Lead

Lead and mentor development teams, providing technical direction and best practices

Drive modernization efforts from legacy platforms to modern Java and cloud technologies

Work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions

Lead code reviews and ensure high code quality and architectural standards

Troubleshoot complex issues and optimize system performance and scalability

Create and maintain architecture and technical documentation

Use AI-enabled tools to support application development and testing

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in IT and enterprise application development

Strong experience architecting and designing Java applications on AWS

Proven background in application modernization projects

Experience supporting large, mission-critical systems, ideally in the public sector

Ability to communicate clearly on project status, features, and backlog

Familiarity with React, MariaDB, and cloud-native design principles

Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
