The Opportunity

As Global Market Insights Manager, Oncology - Roche Diagnostics Solutions (RDS) you will be joining a team of passionate, analytic and data-driven people who partner with stakeholders at a local, regional and global level to support data-driven decision-making.

In your role as Global Market Insights Manager for Oncology, you will play a key role in providing market and competitor intelligence/insights to colleagues in the Pathology Laboratory customer area, as well as for the Roche Diagnostics division. Based on your work, you will provide fact-driven guidance to our stakeholders to assist them in making critical strategic decisions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Competitive intelligence & Strategic insights

  • Lead and contribute to competitive monitoring initiatives, derive and distill insights on both traditional and emerging competitors globally, and communicate these insights in a clear, structured, and timely manner
  • Provide timely competitive insights reporting and alerts to advance competitive readiness
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis of key competitive moves to contextualize them and provide a deeper level of understanding to the organization
  • Build relationships with senior leadership, business & commercial teams and regional representatives and establish communication channels to exchange competitive news and information
  • Attend trade shows or conferences and provide synthesized reports on the event and competitive actions
  • Manage competitive workshops, scenario discussions, and other leadership forums to share market and customer insights and discuss both opportunities and implications for Roche

Market Data Analysis & Forecasting

  • Deliver & continuously improve market and revenue model projections through independent and team driven data analysis with collaboration on a local and global level
  • Combine multiple data and intelligence sources routinely into clear and communicable strategic reports via a range of internal software and tools
  • Collaborate effectively with data analytics partners, identifying data gaps for further development and improving utilization of available data
  • Foster and practice a culture of continuous improvement and simplification, advancing processes and analysis to streamline deliverables

Market Research Project Management

  • In collaboration with Lifecycle teams, develop, refine, and communicate insights by analyzing data from multiple sources, including primary and secondary research, competitive intelligence, and financial performance
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand business context and key questions, co-create analytical and problem solving framework, and define solutions to obtain the input required to support decision-making
  • Successfully maintain vendor relationships and Procurement partnership to continuously streamline and improve insights generation
  • Proactively and effectively manage vendors and internal teams during project duration to ensure alignment on findings and project delivery
  • Contribute to a range of initiatives such as overall market assessments and other internal projects to support strategic decision making

Who You Are:

  • Undergraduate degree required; master’s degree, MBA or Ph.D. in business or the life sciences preferred. Minimum 5-10 years industry experience required. Experience in the life sciences, pharmaceutical or medical device industries preferred; diagnostics experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business questions into strategic outputs.
  • Knowledge and experience working with complex data sets, leveraging advanced analytics or AI welcome
  • Proven track record to successfully lead projects and collaborate in cross-functional teams without direct reporting lines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and act as a business partner to provide customer, market and competitive insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required; fluency in written and spoken English required
  • Knowledge of market research techniques to inform critical business questions (e.g. market assessment; new product requirements; market segmentation; marketing positioning, concept and message testing; feature/benefit tradeoff studies; etc) and where different techniques add value
  • Analytical acumen and financial modeling skills (e.g. ability to understand SEC filings and analyst reports; break down complicated market models; triangulate market sizing information from diverse data sources; build forecasts from clearly articulated assumptions)

Location: This is a hybrid role. Candidates may be based at our Tucson, AZ (preferred), Indianapolis, IN, Pleasanton, CA, or Santa Clara, CA offices.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is $114,300 - $212,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
