As Head of School, you will be a key member of the Faculty Leadership Group and lead the school's leadership team. This pivotal role shapes and executes the overall faculty strategy at the school level, ensuring alignment with university policies and external standards. You will set, communicate, and achieve academic and operational objectives, including curriculum development, research and education strategies, resource allocation, talent management, and external engagement.

You will also manage the school's budget to ensure financial sustainability, while fostering a positive workplace culture and role modelling the University's values. Your leadership will inspire academic excellence, enhance the student experience, maintain accreditation standards, and further strengthen the school's reputation nationally and internationally.

About the School of Strategy, Innovation and Technology (SIT)

The School of Strategy, Innovation and Technology (SIT) is home to a vibrant group of scholars, internationally recognised for its high-impact research, societal outreach, and innovative approaches across all levels of business education, from undergraduate to MBA, and executive programs. SIT brings together two complementing disciplines-strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, and business information systems-with a ethos and orientation towards research application, entrepreneurship, public engagement, and leadership for good.

Emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and social media, have become integral parts of everyday life, disruptors of old, and enablers of new business practices. With theoretical and analytical perspectives that integrate technical and social aspects of technological change, SIT is uniquely placed to lead the way in crafting the digital future of business and society, spanning topics such as digital ecosystems, transformation, open innovation, and strategic foresight.

Innovation is the lifeblood of change in business and society. SIT bridges both strategic and entrepreneurial activity to address complex organisational and policy challenges in a rapidly changing global context. With deep involvement in Sydney's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, SIT offers a platform rarely found in a single school. It has a strong reputation for industry and public-sector engagement, with collaborations across technology firms, startups, creative industries, health, finance, and government.

SIT's practical approach is expressed in a range of concrete initiatives. With Genesis, the University's flagship accelerator, students and researchers can engage directly with founders, venture capital, and angel investors. With the MOTUS lab for research into digital humans, and programs on the impact of AI on professional work and societal welfare, the school leads topical conversations globally and locally. With RARE (Rural and Remote Entrepreneurship) SIT extends its reach beyond the city, partnering with Aboriginal communities to tackle place-based business challenges in student-led and community-informed ways.

SIT practices leadership for good. It aligns itself with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and is recognised for its leadership in ethics and corporate responsibility, sustainability and the climate debate, and the political economy of technological change. A distinctive strength lies in Aboriginal business and entrepreneurship, including dedicated student and community-facing programs.

For a prospective Head of School, SIT offers a compelling leadership opportunity: to shape a future-facing academic portfolio, scale interdisciplinary research and industry partnerships, and position the school as a national and global leader in strategy, innovation, digital technology, and entrepreneurship-within one of Australia's most ambitious and internationally engaged Business Schools.
