When it comes to the materials that create exceptional ceramic components, our facility in Huntsville is the major leagues. We're producing Hi-Nicalon TypeS SiC Fiber as well as SiC pre-preg tape in an advanced technology, LEAN manufacturing environment. Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations. This role will be supporting 2nd/night shift with the hours of 4:30 P - 4:30 A.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations.
  • Spend 75% of time on the shop floor, Strong team coaching ability and follow up
  • Familiarity with managing and communicating through lean production systems
  • Use and teach basic problem solving tools 5Why, Fishbone
  • Collaborative leader with key function like EHS and quality
  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years Manufacturing experience)
  • Supervisory experience within a manufacturing/production environment
