Backend Engineer (PHP/Laravel, AWS, Kubernetes)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Engineer to join the development team of a scalable US-based payment solutions platform. We are looking for a backend-focused specialist capable of designing resilient architectures within a cloud-native environment. This role involves working with complex payment logic, high-load systems, and AI-driven development tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Core Development: Architect and maintain the backend of the payment platform using PHP 8+ and Laravel.
• API Architecture: Design and optimize complex GraphQL APIs to support diverse payment methods and financial transactions.
• Infrastructure & Scalability: Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Implement caching strategies (Redis/Memcached) to ensure system fault tolerance under high load.
• Frontend Integration: Develop and maintain responsive internal interfaces using React.js (approx. 20% of workload).
• Security & Compliance: Strictly apply secure coding principles and financial data protection standards (OWASP).
• Observability: Maintain platform health using logging and monitoring systems (Logz.io).

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of commercial experience with Laravel or modern PHP frameworks.
• Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes is required.
• API Expertise: Proven experience in building and querying GraphQL APIs.
• Performance: Strong knowledge of caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached) and database optimization.
• Security: Solid understanding of security best practices regarding sensitive data.
• Language: English level Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher for direct technical communication.
