Job Description

The team is seeking an experienced System Engineer to lead the engineering work for an on-premise system with a mission operations team. The team is involved in the operation and sustainment of multiple operational cloud and on-premise deployed geospatial solutions. A successful candidate will have experience with the installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of this on-premise system.

We are also seeking an experienced System Administrator to work on cloud-based systems with a mission operations team. The team is involved in operations and sustainment of multiple operational cloud deployed geospatial solutions. A successful candidate will have experience with installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of cloud-based systems.

The candidate will need to be a self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment, and the ability to coordinate multiple, concurrent tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities will involve:

• Taking a leadership role in system changes and improvements.
• Working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot and respond to security reports.
• Proactively monitoring all operational systems and performing some of the more complex health checks.
• Deploying security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments.
• Updating critical databases with new data.

• Authoring and updating operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.
  
  

Core Qualifications

• <>Top Secret Clearance (with ability to pass CI Poly upon hire)</>
• DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher)
• Typically requires BS degree and 8 12 years of prior relevant experience or master s with 6 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in AWS/Cloud technologies
• Advanced Linux administration experience with RHEL 7 or higher
• Must have experience with Microsoft Windows Server
• Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices
• Windows administration
• Proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work. Follow tasks to their logical conclusion and make sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail.
• Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with team members and clients, verbally and in writing. Able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ArcGIS/ESRI automation and deployments
• Understanding of RDS and SQL Technology
• AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, Certification(s)
• Experience with IC Cloud Architecture implementation methodologies
• Team Collaboration tools and administration (Jira, Confluence, RocketChat)
• In-depth knowledge of NiFi Apache (orchestration software), Python machine learning algorithms, and Machine Learning (ML) skills with experience in unstructured text parsing, and Tomcat.
  
  

Ideal Candidate

Sec+ required. Must be willing to sit for CI Poly. Some windows experience is a nice to have. We need an experienced Linux system administrator with the skills needed to build, manage, patch, & STIG AWS servers. Experience with Ansible playbooks is another key skill. AWS automation experience is a MUST
