Role: Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Location: UK Remote

Monthly travel to Hereford. Ability to attend site within ~2 hours for genuine security incidents.

Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 plus bonus and fully funded training and certifications

The Role

• This is a senior, hands-on cyber security role with end-to-end ownership of security across a large, global enterprise environment.
• You will be responsible for protecting and strengthening the organisation’s cyber security posture across IT, cloud and operational technology, supporting around 3,500 users across 90 sites worldwide.
• You will be the sole internal cyber security engineer, acting as the technical authority for vulnerability management, incident response and security improvement.
• You will work closely with Group Cyber, IT Operations, AWS consultants and trusted third-party partners, but you will own priorities, decisions and outcomes.
• This role suits someone who has operated in a large enterprise environment or previously owned a security service at scale and wants influence, autonomy and visible impact.

What You’ll Own

• Vulnerability and threat management across servers, endpoints, networks and cloud
• Incident monitoring, investigation and response, including major incidents
• Ownership of core security tooling including vulnerability scanning, endpoint protection and monitoring platforms
• Security input into major IT, AWS and OT transformation programmes
• OT security improvement across manufacturing and production environments
• Cyber security awareness, training, tabletop exercises and regular updates to stakeholders
• Collaboration with Group Cyber, IT Operations, Service Desk and third parties
• Continual improvement of security controls, documentation and operational resilience
• Out-of-hours incident support on an exception or rota basis

What We’re Looking For

• Senior hands-on cyber security or infrastructure security experience
• Proven ownership of vulnerability management and incident response
• Experience securing Windows, Linux and networked environments
