Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support
Conduct regular training on payroll regulations, tools, and internal policies
Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
Generate and analyze payroll reports to identify trends, costs, and anomalies
Recommend and implement payroll best practices and process enhancements
Oversee payroll system implementations, upgrades, and maintenance
Coordinate with HR, Accounting, IT, and external vendors to ensure data integrity
Partner closely with HR and Accounting to validate employee data and payroll accounts
Communicate payroll policies and updates clearly to employees and leadership
Support HR-related initiatives and help develop payroll department procedures

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and oversee end-to-end U.S. payroll operations for a growing organization. This role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of U.S. payroll compliance, and hands-on experience managing payroll systems such as ADP. The ideal candidate has managed payroll teams, ensures strict compliance with federal and state regulations, and continuously improves payroll processes through technology and best practices. This is a remote role, open to candidates based in Peru or Mexico, with mandatory experience handling U.S. payroll.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end U.S. payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local U.S. payroll regulations
  • Manage payroll data input, validation, and payment distribution (direct deposit/checks)
  • Oversee payroll reconciliations and maintain audit-ready records
  • Review and audit timekeeping systems, timecards, and compliance with SUI, ADP, and EDD requirements
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly
  • Lead, mentor, and directly manage payroll specialists

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll administration
  • At least 2 years in a payroll leadership or managerial role
  • Mandatory experience managing U.S. payroll
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll laws, tax withholding, and compliance
  • Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Advanced English proficiency (C1); clear spoken English required
  • Continuous learner with a proactive, improvement-driven mindset
