The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a ­­­­­­­­Senior Clinical Data Scientist for a prominent client of ours. This position is 100% REMOTE Details for the position are as follows:


Location: 100% Remote

Pay Rate: $57–$61/hour


Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Data Scientist to partner with cross-functional clinical development teams and drive advanced analytics solutions across the clinical development continuum. This role blends deep statistical expertise with emerging machine learning and AI capabilities to deliver high-impact, data-driven insights supporting clinical trials, precision medicine, and strategic decision-making.


The ideal candidate will serve as both a hands-on analytics expert and a trusted consultant—anticipating risks, shaping analytical strategy, and mentoring junior team members while ensuring regulatory compliance and analytical excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an analytics consultant to cross-functional stakeholders, partnering closely with clinical, biostatistics, data management, and development teams to design high-quality analytical work products.
  • Anticipate, identify, and proactively address analytical, data quality, or timeline risks; develop solution options and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and help establish design principles, standards, and best practices to ensure analytical consistency, scalability, and optimized user experience across projects.
  • Develop and apply advanced statistical methodologies, including prototype development, test methods, algorithms, and exploratory models.
  • Leverage machine learning, AI, and emerging analytical approaches to generate innovative insights and predictive analytics.
  • Enable data-driven insights across the clinical development lifecycle, including applications supporting precision medicine.
  • Collaborate with business partners to identify needs and support the creation of standard KPIs, dashboards, reports, and statistical analyses.
  • Apply machine learning techniques to validate assumptions, assess emerging risks, and predict future clinical trial behavior.
  • Ensure compliance with GCP, ICH Guidelines, federal and local regulations, internal SOPs, and functional quality standards.
  • Stay current on evolving regulatory guidance, policies, and industry best practices related to clinical research and analytics.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior analytics team members, contributing to capability development and knowledge sharing.


Required Education & Experience

  • Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of analytics experience within clinical research or clinical development
  • Demonstrated experience working with clinical data in regulated environments


Top Required Skills & Qualifications

  1. Clinical Analytics Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on analytics experience in clinical research or clinical development settings
  2. Statistical & Programming Expertise: Advanced proficiency in R and Python (or comparable statistical programming languages/packages)
  3. Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning: Expert-level experience with machine learning, NLP, and advanced analytical techniques
  4. AI & Agentic Frameworks: 1+ year of experience with agentic frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, OpenAI agents), including orchestration with tool use, Hands-on experience with LLMs, vector databases, retrieval pipelines (RAG), and modern AI architectures
