Client Overview

Our client is a leading healthcare and financial services provider focused on delivering secure, scalable, and data-driven solutions. As they continue a major enterprise system migration, they are now looking for a Jr Level Back-end Developer.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$30/hr - $40/hr

Position Overview

This fully remote contract role will begin in March and run for approximately 10 months. The Jr Level Back-end Developer will support the development and maintenance of scalable backend services and data-driven applications as part of a large enterprise system migration project. This role offers hands-on exposure to microservices architecture, cloud environments, and modern DevOps practices while contributing to production support and performance optimization.

Responsibilities Of The Jr Level Back-end Developer

  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and Python.
  • Contribute to microservices architecture, including testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Troubleshoot backend and API issues in both development and production environments.
  • Build and support data processing workflows using Databricks notebooks (SQL and Python).
  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex PostgreSQL queries and data models.
  • Diagnose and resolve data-related issues to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud, DevOps, and system migration initiatives.

Required Experience/Skills for the Jr Level Back-end Developer:

  • 1-3 years of backend development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot, RESTful microservices).
  • Experience using Python for backend and data-processing use cases.
  • Strong PostgreSQL and SQL skills.
  • Familiarity with modern UI frameworks.
  • Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud environments.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Jr Level Back-end Developer:

  • Experience supporting enterprise system migrations.
  • Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
