This is a fully remote, freelance opportunity for engineers with 3–10 years of experience who value technical depth, ownership, and flexibility. Contribute on your own schedule, without leaving your full-time role and work on real, high-impact engineering that actively trains and advances frontier AI.

As a Freelance Software Engineer at Bespoke Labs AI, you will work on systems that power large-scale AI training and execution. This is the role where your engineering decisions have direct impact on both production systems and model performance.

What You Will Do

• Build and maintain core backend systems for AI training and task execution
• Design and operate scalable, high-throughput services handling millions of tasks per week
• Develop distributed workflows and compute orchestration systems
• Collaborate closely with AI researchers and model engineers to ship end-to-end solutions
• Take ownership of production systems in a fast-paced, execution-driven environment

What We Are Looking For

• 4 - 10 years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience building and operating systems at scale
• Strong fundamentals in systems design, data structures, and distributed systems
• Familiarity with modern stacks such as Python and Go, databases, and async systems
• Comfortable working in high-ownership startup environments
• Computer Science / CS background from top tier college or an equivalent college or university is preferred.

Compensation:

This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates based in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Colombia, and Brazil.

Hourly compensation for core projects typically ranges between USD $40 and $70 per hour. Final rates are determined based on experience, skills evaluation, location, project scope, and overall requirements
