Hands-on / Code Review Role (Part-Time on Contract)

Together North is an early-stage startup building a mobile app using React Native and Supabase. Our focus is on building a clean, secure, and scalable community focused mobile application from day one.

This is a part time developer role, ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys building, reviewing, and improving mobile code-bases without the overhead of a full-time commitment.

Engagement details

- Part-time contract role (approximately 4 hours per week)

- Fully remote with flexible scheduling

- Willing to use your own computer and communications equipment

- Paid hourly on a bi-weekly basis

What you’ll do

- Review React Native code and pull requests, providing clear, actionable feedback

- Evaluate architecture and data modeling decisions before they reach production

- Review authentication flows, database schemas, and Row Level Security (RLS) policies

- Identify performance, scalability, and maintainability risks early

- Discuss with Management why solutions are recommended, not just what to change

- Implement outstanding features in our React Native code-base

- Fix Android and iOS build issues and runtime errors

- Improve code quality, structure, and maintainability

- Attend virtual meetings when required

What we’re looking for

- Approximately 5 years of professional mobile development experience

- Proven experience shipping React Native apps to both iOS and Android

- Strong understanding of state management, navigation, and performance optimization

- Experience reviewing code-bases

Supabase / Backend

- Strong experience using Supabase in multiple environments (ex: Prod/Dev)

- Deep understanding of PostgreSQL fundamentals

- Hands-on experience designing and auditing Row Level Security (RLS) policies

- Experience with secure authentication flows

Architecture & Judgment

- Experience reviewing schemas and architectures prior to launch

- Ability to identify long-term risks and propose pragmatic solutions

Process & Mentorship

- Experience mentoring developers through thoughtful code reviews

- Familiarity with environment separation (dev/staging/prod)

- Clear written and verbal communication skills

App Store Experience

- Experience shipping and maintaining apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play

- Familiarity with Apple Sign-In requirements and app review guidelines
