Network Security Engineer
Salary up to $130,000
Fully Remote Role
We’re seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco technologies and hands-on experience securing Azure cloud environments. This role is fully remote and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, security-first infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures across on-prem and cloud (Azure) environments.
- Manage and optimize Cisco-based network security solutions (firewalls, switches, routers, VPN, NAC).
- Administer and harden Cisco ASA, Firepower, ISE, AnyConnect, and related Cisco security platforms.
- Monitor network performance, investigate anomalies, and respond to security incidents.
- Implement network segmentation, zero-trust principles, and best practices for cloud and hybrid networks.
- Configure and secure Azure Virtual Networks, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateways, and ExpressRoute.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts across network layers.
- Document network configurations, security procedures, and architectural diagrams.
- Collaborate with security, cloud, infrastructure, and DevOps teams on cross-functional initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)
- Expert-level Cisco network security experience (ASA, Firepower, FTD, ISE, Cisco switching/routing).
- Strong understanding of Cisco networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, ACLs).
- Proven experience managing and securing Azure network infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with VPNs, site-to-site tunnels, and secure remote access.
- Strong understanding of SIEM, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools.
- Network security best practices: segmentation, encryption, zero trust, NIST/ISO frameworks.
- Experience with incident response and root cause analysis.
- Ability to design and maintain highly available and fault-tolerant network environments.
