Genesis10 is currently seeking a Palo Alto Firewall Engineer for a 10+ month contract position located in Minnesota. This position is 100% remote.

Compensation: $75.00 - 82.00 per hour, W2, depending on skill and experience level.

Description:

The Palo Alto engineer will be responsible for the administration and configuration of Palo Alto. The primary focus for the candidate will be managing firewall policy using Panorama and Tufin. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting IPSEC configurations, Palo Alto hardware and virtual firewall platforms, global protect, and collaborating with IT Security to mitigate security vulnerabilities and other duties as assigned.

Top Skills Details:

• Palo Alto firewall policy utilizing AppID, URL filtering, Threat, and Wildfire
• Experience using Panorama, log collectors, IPSEC tunnels and global protect
• Experience with Palo Alto in a cloud and hybrid environment
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Palo Alto firewall virtual routers and routing policy using BGP as the primary routing protocol.

Maintain systems and documentation as needed for audits and compliance.

Collaborate with IT Security departments to mitigate security vulnerabilities.

Collaborate with other staff and departments to meet department and project deadlines.

Use ITIL process and procedures for change, incident, and problem management of perimeter network environments.

Proven troubleshooting skills

Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and constantly changing environment, while being able to set priorities and balance multiple deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present information in clear, concise terms to all position levels in the organization, as well as business partners, vendors and technical staff.

Ability to work on a team or independently with minimal supervision to achieve project milestones and deadlines. Knows how to escalate appropriately, efficiently, and effectively.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills; able to manage a complex project independently, while functioning effectively under time constraints, established deadlines and within budget.

Business Challenge:

Client is currently transitioning technology stacks from on-premise to Public Cloud and SAAS/PAAS providers. As part of their transition strategy, client is specifically looking for a FW engineer to maintain and update firewall policy as application teams migrate into cloud. The primary goal is to realize cost savings and increased velocity for the Networking teams by taking a managed services approach.

Work Environment:

Complex and Collaborative. Provide FW policy support for migration of resources to cloud providers from on-prem while maintaining critical system availability for business users.
