Senior Mobile Developer – React Native / Expo

Fully Remote Contract - £460 - £515 per day InsideIR35

6 Month Contract

BPSS Clearance, however SC Clearance would be preferred

We are seeking an experienced Senior / Lead Mobile Engineer with strong React Native and Expo expertise to support a confidential technical assessment of a mobile application built using a hybrid framework.

The role will involve contributing to a structured technical evaluation and providing independent, informed input to support future decision-making. The successful candidate will operate in a trusted advisory capacity, balancing hands-on technical insight with broader architectural and strategic considerations.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to a detailed technical assessment of a mobile application utilising a hybrid framework

• Evaluate the robustness, maintainability and scalability of the current React Native / Expo implementation

• Provide evidence-based observations to inform future technical direction

• Support discussions comparing different mobile delivery approaches, as required

• Engage with a small group of technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate findings clearly and appropriately

Essential Experience:

• Demonstrable experience delivering cross-platform / hybrid mobile applications through the full SDLC to end-user release

• Strong commercial experience with React Native and Expo

• Experience integrating mobile applications with APIs and backend services

• Good understanding of iOS and Android platforms, including considerations when working with hybrid frameworks

Desirable Experience:

• Native iOS and/or Android development experience

• Experience implementing offline or low-connectivity capabilities within mobile applications

• Experience with Government SSO solutions e.g. Gov Gateway, Gov One
