Role: Network Engineer (Cisco ACI)
Location: Chicago IL (Remote)
The Network Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure network infrastructures to support in multi data center infrastructure. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, architectural planning, and optimization of network systems to ensure high availability, reliability, performance.
Responsibilities
· Network Design and Architecture:
o Design and implement robust network architectures to support current and future business requirements.
o Develop network diagrams, documentation, and specifications for network components.
o Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical network requirements.
· Network Implementation and Deployment:
o Configure and deploy network devices such as routers, switches, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.
o Implement network security measures, including access control, encryption, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
o Deploy and manage network monitoring and management tools to ensure proactive network health and performance monitoring.
· Network Optimization and Performance Tuning:
o Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize network configurations to enhance efficiency and throughput.
o Conduct periodic network performance assessments and capacity planning exercises.
o Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prioritize critical network traffic.

· Network Troubleshooting and Support:
o Provide escalated support for complex network issues and outages, including root cause analysis and resolution.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot network-related problems impacting business operations.
o Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for network infrastructure.
· Security and Compliance:
o Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices to protect network assets from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
o Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.
o Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate potential security risks.
· Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
o Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and standards.
o Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to junior network engineers and other IT staff.
o Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in networking.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have vast experience in service-provider routing using OSPF and MP-BGP.
- Must be proficient in enterprise routing with EIGRP and DMVPN using FVRF/IVRF.
- Must be well adept in data center networking using Cisco Nexus 7k, 5k, 2k environments running OSPF, BGP, VDC, VRF, Fabric path, and HSRP.
- Must be extremely familiar with configuring and troubleshooting MPLS L3VPNs.
- Must be very familiar with setting up, configuring, and managing Cisco ACI in an application centric approach using micro-segment EPGs and contracts.
- Nice to have experience in Cisco Meraki wireless.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- The role may involve occasional on-call duties to address critical network issues outside of regular business hours.

The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is $60000 to $75000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits, will be determined by a number of factors which include but are not limited to the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; geographic location; and internal equity
