The Product Information Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational execution of product data management across all internal systems, customer-facing platforms, and third-party channels. This role ensures product information is accurate, consistent, and optimized to support sales, marketing, operations, and digital initiatives.
This position plays a critical role in enabling digital transformation by defining data standards, managing workflows, and driving cross-functional alignment around product content and governance.
About The Role
The Product Information Manager owns the Product Information Management (PIM) ecosystem and serves as the central point of accountability for product data quality. You will partner closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, IT, and external vendors to gather, enrich, validate, and distribute product information at scale.
This role requires strong systems thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex data environments while supporting new product launches, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the Product Information Management (PIM) system, including taxonomy, attributes, hierarchies, and workflows
- Partner with Product, Marketing, Sales, and IT teams to collect, enrich, and validate product data
- Define, document, and enforce product data governance standards and policies
- Ensure product data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across digital and print channels
- Lead PIM-related initiatives including system enhancements, integrations, and new product launches
- Support integrations between PIM, ERP, DAM, CRM, and eCommerce platforms
- Train internal teams and external partners on PIM tools, processes, and best practices
- Monitor and report on KPIs related to product data quality and performance
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and data usability
- Stay current on industry trends, tools, and best practices in product information management

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in product data management, digital operations, or eCommerce
- Hands-on experience with PIM platforms such as Salsify, Akeneo, Informatica, Stibo Systems, or Riversand
- Strong understanding of data modeling, taxonomy, metadata, and digital asset management
- Experience integrating PIM with ERP, CRM, DAM, and eCommerce systems
- Proven project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and global product standards such as GS1 or GDSN
- Experience in B2B or B2C retail, manufacturing, or distribution environments
- Knowledge of SEO, product content optimization, and digital merchandising principles
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, or data visualization tools
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments; certification is a plus
