Our client, a leading technology organization specializing in cloud-native systems and open-source projects, is seeking a Software Development Engineer 1 to join their innovative team. As a Software Development Engineer 1, you will be part of the Systems Research Group supporting cutting-edge research and development initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate curiosity, collaboration, and technical excellence, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Software Development Engineer 1 (Rust/Python)

Location: Fully Remote, within the United States

Pay Range: $33-37/HR on Experis W2

What's the Job?

• Design and implement AI-assisted workflows to enhance developer productivity and code quality
• Create and maintain automation tools for CI/CD pipelines, documentation, and community engagement
• Collaborate with research and engineering teams to integrate AI tools like GitHub Copilot into development processes
• Contribute to open-source projects by submitting pull requests, reviewing code, and participating in discussions
• Develop automation that maintains consistency across a growing ecosystem of libraries and tooling
  
  
  

What's Needed?

• 1-2 years of experience in software development, with a focus on systems programming
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 1+ years and proficiency in Rust, Python, GitHub workflows and general software development
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation scripting, and open-source contributions
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a distributed environment
• The ideal candidate will have experience in Rust programming language, strong communication skills, some knowledge of open source technologies, and previous experience with GitHub contributing to geo-distributed software.
