Position: GSW - PSA Engineer - Generation Rate 70 W2 80 C2C

Location: Melbourne, FL/Bellevue, WA/Remote

Duration: 1 Years

PSA Engineer - Generation

Industry/ Domain: Power & Utility exp. Needed

Pre-Screening Questionnaire (REQUIRED INCLUDE ON COVERSHEET)

Desirable Skills / Must Have Technical/Functional Skills:

Over 5 years of experience in Power system applications (Generation) : Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Load Frequency Control, Load Forecasting, Economic Dispatch, Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency analysis, Operator Training Simulator (OTS).

Hands-on expertise preferably on GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21) and/or AEMS/GDC Platform Software, as well as EMS of any equivalent platforms from Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider etc.

Proficient in both Linux and Windows operating environments

Experience with communication protocols: IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3, Modbus, ICCP, OPC.

Experience of working with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.

Experience in programming languages for system integration or scripting, such as C, C++, PERL, or similar.

SQL, shell scripting, and ability to read and interpret logs and debug files.

Must have experience in picking up and installing fixes on live customer systems

Strong troubleshooting & debugging skills

Administer and optimize Energy Management System (EMS) system through application configuration, tuning and security patching

Perform necessary technical corrective actions to restore failed or failing technical services on EMS system.

Conduct code review, deployment, testing and monitoring of break/fix patches and modification.

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsible for advanced Power Systems Application software development and successful delivery of assigned functions to meet corporate project/product commitments. The responsibilities include: working with Electric Utilities or ISOs (Independent System Operators) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) on functional software specifications, designing, coding, testing, integration, application tuning and delivery.

PLEASE NOTE: Have to be willing to travel to customer's or customer identified site not 100% remote needs to be flexible to travel as needed based on business requirements.
