What you will do:
- You will design and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric components such as OneLake, Data Factory, and lakehouse environments.
- The role focuses on ingesting machine data, shaping it into usable formats, and keeping pipelines reliable.
- You will manage ETL and ELT processes across structured and unstructured sources while monitoring quality, lineage, and performance.
- Daily work includes close contact with product engineers, infrastructure teams, and data analysts to align schemas with business needs.
- You will improve cloud connectivity, support monitoring processes, and resolve data issues to keep services stable.

Skills and experience we are looking for:
- At least 5+ years of data engineering experience within enterprise data platforms.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and lakehouse or warehouse environments.
- Must be advanced SQL, Python, PySpark.
- Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Entra ID.
- CI/CD practices, infrastructure-as-code exposure, automated deployment workflows.
- Clear communication style, collaborative approach, ability to work across time zones
- Applicants must hold permanent New Zealand work rights and be based locally or open to Christchurch relocation.
