About the Role

This is a hands-on global Payroll Specialist role for someone who enjoys precision, accountability, and building calm into complex systems.

You will be the single source of truth for payroll accuracy, ensuring our employees and contractors are paid correctly, compliantly, and on time across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll partner closely with People, Finance, and external payroll providers to keep payroll clean, scalable, and audit-ready as the company grows.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Payroll Processing: Run end-to-end global payroll for employees and independent contractors across multiple countries and currencies, including processing overtime, bonuses, and deductions (tax, pension, insurance) accurately and on time.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure payroll complies with local tax and statutory requirements, partnering with payroll vendors and flagging risks early.
• Systems, Data & Controls: Maintain clean payroll data across systems, reconcile payroll outputs with finance, and support audits and month-end close.
• Query Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for payroll questions, resolving issues clearly, discreetly, and efficiently.
• System Maintenance: Utilize Lark Base to enter, track, and process data.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of hands-on global payroll experience, including running payroll for employees and independent contractors across multiple countries.
• Strong command of payroll compliance and risk, with practical experience navigating grey areas and evolving requirements in fast-moving environments.
• Comfortable operating with ambiguity and incomplete inputs, applying sound judgment to keep payroll accurate and on time.
• Systems-fluent and data-driven, with experience owning payroll platforms (e.g. Deel, ADP, Rippling, Keka) and using Excel to validate outcomes.
• Highly trusted and discreet, able to handle sensitive payroll matters while advising stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
• Builder’s mindset: you’ve improved or scaled payroll processes before and know how to create structure without slowing the business down.
