About The Job

We are looking for a Payroll Manager to join our rapidly growing team at Arsenal-1 in Ashville, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and overseeing the accurate and timely payroll processing. You will utilize your excellent communication skills to resolve employee payroll questions and issues as well as streamline the payroll processes. This will require strong payroll skills in addition to compliance and regulatory knowledge. If you are someone who is organized, an independent leader and problem solver then this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • As the Payroll Manager, your core focus will be to accurately manage & process the Arsenal-1 payroll, lead process improvement efforts, and manage the SOX process
  • The ideal candidate will manage payroll processing, account reconciliations, and drive improvements within payroll operations
  • Manage compliance related to Payroll, Timekeeping, Payroll Taxes and Garnishment processing that aligns with SOX and internal audit requirements & ensure payroll processes adhere to wage and hour laws and tax regulations
  • Identify and implement payroll process improvements and best practices to drive process excellence to avoid errors and develop & update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Prepare final wages for terminated employees in compliance with state laws
  • Identify opportunities to optimize processes and enhance the employee experience
  • Resolve payroll-related inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Handle special projects or other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible multi-state or multi-site payroll experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Proficiency with cloud-based payroll software (preferably Workday, Oracle or Rippling)
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax compliance, especially Ohio & locals.
  • Ability to manage a fluctuating workload of high and low intensity
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with FLSA, federal, state, and local wage and hour, and tax regulations
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities

US Salary Range

$99,000—$131,000 USD
