Contribute to discovery and planning for cloud migrations by capturing network security dependencies.
Support troubleshooting and optimization of existing cloud network security configurations.

Job Description


Our Customer is a consumer financial services company headquartered in Connecticut. The company offers consumer financing products, including credit, promotional financing and loyalty programs, installment lending to industries, and FDIC-insured consumer savings products through the consumer bank, its wholly owned online bank subsidiary.

Our Customer is seeking a Network Security Architect on a contract basis to support a critical migration initiative moving key applications and workloads to the AWS public cloud. This role will work closely with application teams, the security architecture group, and the perimeter defense team to define and implement network security requirements that ensure secure and compliant cloud adoption. This role is 100% remote.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to gather and analyze network security requirements, including connectivity, ports, protocols, and data flows
  • Translate application requirements into detailed and actionable network security policies and firewall rules
  • Design and validate network security architecture in AWS using Security Groups, Network ACLs, and integration with Palo Alto firewall policies
  • Partner with perimeter defense and security operations teams to streamline firewall rule discovery, approval, and deployment processes
  • Document best practices and standards for cloud network security design, including guidance on using Palo Alto versus AWS native controls
  • Contribute to discovery and planning for cloud migrations by capturing network security dependencies
  • Support troubleshooting and optimization of existing cloud network security configurations

Skills And Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security architecture or engineering with a focus on cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of network security controls, including firewalls, Security Groups, VPNs, and layered defense models
  • Proven ability to translate application connectivity requirements into firewall rules and network security designs
  • Experience with AWS networking components, including VPCs, Subnets, Route Tables, and Transit Gateways
  • Experience working collaboratively with application teams in Agile or DevSecOps environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to document and present complex technical concepts clearly
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results in fast-paced environments

Preferred

  • AWS certifications, such as AWS Security Specialty or Solutions Architect
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and enterprise firewall policy management tools
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries
