As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll establish the DevOps foundation at DualEntry. You will play a pivotal role in designing our internal platform, scaling infrastructure, and setting the standards for reliability and automation across the organization. You’ll help build the foundational backend of a product with massive market pull.

This is an intense, hands-on Engineering role with full ownership. We expect you to push for excellence and raise the bar.

📍 Location: Remote with overlap to our New York City HQ (EST)

Where you'll create impact

• Lead the initial setup of our DevOps and platform engineering practices, defining standards, tooling, and infrastructure strategy
• Design and deliver an internal platform for personal or feature environments to empower developers and improve velocity
• Build and maintain AWS-based infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security

• Develop CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and automate release processes
• Implement observability tooling (logging, monitoring, alerting) to detect and resolve issues proactively
• Collaborate closely with developers to identify bottlenecks, improve delivery, and enhance system reliability
• Ensure high availability and uptime through effective monitoring, incident response, and recovery strategies
• Promote infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code best practices
• Document systems, configurations, and incident processes for team-wide clarity and consistency
• Participate in on-call rotations or coordinate time zone coverage to ensure 24-hour reliability across regions

What sets you up for success

• Hardcore work ethic and high agency
• 8+ years of experience in backend engineering
• Proven track record in high-growth, high-ownership environments
• Strong skills in PostgreSQL, SQL, ORMs, migrations, and schema design
• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure
• Strong API design and testing experience
• Understanding of CI/CD, deployment, and production readiness
• Bonus: expertise in Python and modern frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
• Ability to manage complex systems with evolving requirements
• Fluent English (C1+) with clear communication

Compensation & Benefits

• Equity: $30,000+ USD
• Base Salary: $100,000 – $165,000 USD
• Contract type: B2B
