Salary: £67,000 – £76,000 per annum

Location: Leeds (Hybrid / UK-based with travel)

Overview

Our client is a rapidly growing digital consultancy delivering high-impact digital solutions across public and private sector organisations. They are seeking an experienced Lead Mobile Developer to provide technical leadership across mobile delivery, shaping mobile strategy and ensuring the successful design and implementation of secure, scalable, and high-performance mobile applications.

This is a senior, hands-on role combining deep technical expertise with leadership, client engagement, and architectural ownership. The Lead Mobile Developer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable mobile solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and delivery of mobile solutions, ensuring applications are robust, scalable, secure, and aligned with modern mobile-first strategies.
  • Define and implement mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture, selecting appropriate native or cross-platform approaches.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership while mentoring senior and mid-level engineers, promoting best practice, code quality, and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, product teams, and UX/UI designers to translate user needs into effective mobile architectures and delivery plans.
  • Ensure mobile solutions meet industry best practice standards for security, performance, accessibility (WCAG), offline capability, and app store compliance.
  • Contribute to pre-sales activity, supporting proposals and bids by articulating mobile-led technical strategies.
  • Represent technical excellence in client workshops, discovery phases, and stakeholder engagements.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a Senior or Lead Mobile Developer, with a proven track record delivering complex, consumer-facing mobile applications.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in native mobile development using Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android), with in-depth knowledge of their ecosystems and SDKs.
  • Proven experience with cross-platform development frameworks, particularly Flutter (Dart), including state management approaches.
  • Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns, modularisation, and mobile-specific CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Firebase services, and local data persistence solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of the mobile release lifecycle, including automated testing (unit, UI, and integration) and beta distribution tooling.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
