The Job in a Nutshell
We are looking for a Reporting Business Analyst to support the delivery of regulatory and financial reports by acting as the link between our US-based stakeholders and our Tallinn-based Data Engineering team. You will own the reporting delivery process, translating business and accounting requirements into clear technical tasks, managing priorities, and ensuring reports are accurate and delivered on time.
This role is well suited for someone with a financial or accounting background who enjoys structured problem-solving, close collaboration with engineers, and working in a deadline-driven environment.
A Sneak Peek into Your Role
- Own and manage the reporting team’s backlog in Jira, ensuring clear priorities and visibility at all times.
- Act as the main point of contact for delivery-related questions, keeping engineers unblocked and work moving forward.
- Track timelines for regulatory and financial reporting deadlines and ensure on-time delivery.
- Translate business, accounting, and audit requirements into clear, structured instructions for the engineering team.
- Investigate discrepancies in reports by analysing financial logic and underlying data before escalating issues.
- Review final report outputs (CSV, PDF, etc.) to ensure accuracy and overall quality before delivery.
- Collaborate closely with US-based stakeholders to clarify requirements and manage expectations.
You're good at
- Working with financial data and accounting concepts such as General Ledger, reconciliation, and variance analysis.
- Managing workflows, backlogs, and delivery processes in tools like Jira, with a strong sense of ownership and prioritisation.
- Breaking down complex business or accounting requirements into clear, actionable steps for technical teams.
- Problem-solving with patience and logic, especially when numbers don’t immediately add up.
- Communicating clearly and confidently in English with both technical engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Staying organised, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Using basic SQL (e.g. running simple SELECT queries) to explore raw data — or being highly motivated to learn quickly if this is new to you.
- Adapting to changing priorities, handling peak workload periods, and stepping into a leadership mindset when needed.
- Fluency in verbal and written communication in English is essential.
