Systems Engineer, ESC Managed Operations | Dublin, Ireland | Hybrid

We're working with Amazon Web Services on this exciting opportunity. We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join the pioneering European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) initiative, focusing on automation and high-availability operations for crucial AWS services exclusively for EU customers. This role involves launching the ESC in 2025 and influencing the evolution of AWS services and technology.

The Role

• Lead operations and development teams for high-availability AWS services within the ESC.

• Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud in 2025.

• Collaborate with global AWS teams to enhance day-to-day operations.

• Influence the evolution of AWS services and technology.

• Ensure improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of the ESC.

• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents and ensure system resilience.

What You'll Need

• Fluency in written and spoken English.

• Must be a national of an EU member state and residing in the EU.

• Expertise in systems engineering, including hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.

• Experience scripting processes in Bash, Python, or Ruby.

• Solid understanding of Linux and networking, with troubleshooting capabilities.

• Ability to create, revise, and improve standard operational procedures (SOPs).
