Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Azure Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric to lead enterprise-grade data engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of overall IT experience, with significant prior experience in India and exposure to US-based projects considered highly advantageous.
This role requires technical leadership, strong architecture skills, and the ability to drive end-to-end data platform implementations in cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable data architectures on Azure.
- Implement and manage solutions using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, OneLake, Power BI integration).
- Design and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Develop and manage data solutions using Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2).
- Build ETL/ELT workflows and real-time data ingestion pipelines.
- Implement data modeling strategies (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Medallion Architecture).
- Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and analytics teams.
- Ensure data governance, security, and performance optimization.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

Required Technical Skills
- 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Warehousing.
- Strong expertise in:
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Fabric
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure Data Lake (ADLS Gen2)
- Databricks
- SQL, T-SQL
- PySpark / Python
- Power BI integration
- Experience implementing Medallion Architecture in Fabric.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and performance tuning.
- Experience with CI/CD in Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of data security, RBAC, and governance frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on US-based client projects.
- Strong communication skills with experience interacting with US stakeholders.
- Experience leading offshore/onshore teams.
