Senior Systems Engineer for European Sovereign Cloud

The Role

• Lead operations and development for high-availability AWS services (EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, Bedrock)

• Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025

• Collaborate with global AWS teams and contribute to service evolution

• Enhance daily operations and improve availability, reliability, and performance of the ESC

• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents

• Develop scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency and root cause analysis

What You'll Need

• National of an EU member state and residing in the EU

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related IT discipline) or equivalent industry experience

• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby) or software development (Java, TypeScript, or similar)

• Strong understanding of Linux and networking fundamentals

• Knowledge or experience operating services in AWS or other cloud environments (preferred)

• Experience with 24x7 high-availability, distributed software applications (preferred)

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Ansible) (preferred)
