Backend Engineer

We’re building the first creator-commerce platform in Saudi, focused on helping YouTubers, streamers, podcasters, and digital creators build their own brands in a few days instead of a few months.

Creators should be focused on creating and growing their audience. They don’t have the time to design products, negotiate with factories, monitor production, deal with imports, certifications, or manage all the operational complexity that comes with building a real brand.

That’s where we come in 💡 We take full ownership of the commerce side so creators don’t have to.

We help creators:

• Build an online store using our no-code website builder.
• Manufacture their own products through a fully digital product builder.
• Store their products in our warehouse, where we handle packaging and delivery.
• Manage orders, customers, financials, and all services from a single dashboard.

Behind this experience is a deeply integrated backend system that connects storefronts, manufacturing logic, inventory states, order orchestration, financial flows, warehouse operations, and integrations in real time.

All of our systems, including factory and warehouse management, are built in-house. No third parties. Full control over quality and output, and a deliberately low-friction user experience.

We’re currently in staging, preparing for market launch backed by a 20M SAR investment and a 30+ person team.

As a Backend Engineer, you won’t just build APIs. You’ll design and scale the systems that power the entire platform behind the scenes.

You’ll help build:

• The orchestration layer that translates storefront actions into real factory output

• Order pipelines coordinating payments, fulfillment, and state transitions

• Inventory and warehouse systems reflecting live physical movements

• Financial engines handling payouts, fees, VAT, and reconciliation

• Internal services used daily by production and operations teams

💻 Tech Stack

• Core: Node.js, NestJS, Express.js (routing), TypeScript, RESTful APIs, GraphQL
• Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis for caching
• Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS)
• Architecture: Microservices, Event-driven architecture, Message queues (SQS, RabbitMQ)
• Tooling: ESLint, Prettier, Jest, Supertest, Docker Compose
• Monitoring: CloudWatch, DataDog, ELK Stack, Prometheus
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Helm charts
• Optional: Serverless (Lambda), Event sourcing, CQRS, API Gateway, Service mesh

✅ Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services using Node.js + TypeScript
• Lead microservices architecture discussions and establish engineering standards and best practices
• Own end-to-end feature development from database design to API deployment
• Collaborate with frontend teams to design robust API contracts and integration patterns
• Review code, mentor junior developers, and drive technical excellence across the team
• Work with DevOps teams to optimize deployment pipelines and infrastructure automation
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for distributed systems
• Contribute to the evolution of our microservices architecture and backend infrastructure
• Help shape the backend foundation of a vertically integrated commerce platform at scale

🧠 What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience building production-grade backend applications and APIs
• Deep knowledge of Node.js, Express.js, and TypeScript in server-side environments
• Strong understanding of database design, query optimization, and data modeling (SQL and NoSQL)
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) in production
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native architecture patterns
• Expertise in microservices design patterns, API versioning, and distributed system challenges
• Passion for clean code, system reliability, and scalable architecture
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Strong ability to use AI tools in a structured and disciplined way to improve development speed, system reasoning, test coverage, documentation, and architecture validation. We expect intentional AI usage, not random vibe coding.

⭐️ Nice to Have

• Background in e-commerce, logistics, or manufacturing especially at scale is a strong plus
• Experience with complex backend features (real-time systems, data pipelines, payment processing)
• Experience working on e-commerce platforms, high-traffic APIs, or financial systems
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and GitOps workflows
• Contributions to open-source Node.js libraries or frameworks
• Experience with event-driven architectures or message streaming (Kafka, Kinesis)
• Exposure to performance optimization, caching strategies, or database sharding techniques
