Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join a mission driven engineering team supporting a DHS program. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for configuring CAASM platforms, building and supporting API integrations, and helping agencies strengthen their cybersecurity posture through better data visibility, normalization, and integration. This role is fully remote, however candidates in the DMV area are highly preferred with occasional travel in office. *Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance*
Responsibilities of the Senior Systems Engineer:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain CAASM platforms in varied federal environments
- Integrate asset and security data from multiple cyber tools into CAASM systems
- Build and refine data collection workflows for consistency and normalization
- Analyze complex data behavior and resolve ingestion or processing issues
- Support secure authentication methods, encryption, and certificate management
- Validate platform health and troubleshoot system or adapter‑level issues
- Prepare clear documentation for builds, deployments, and configuration updates
- Serve as a technical resource to internal teams and federal stakeholders

- 5+ years of supporting, architecting, integrating or managing COTS products
- Working knowledge of Axonius or Armis highly preferred
- 4+ years administering Linux, Windows, or VMware environments
- Experience in programming or scripting in Python, Go, Java, or similar languages
- Strong experience automating workflows through API driven integrations
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, FISMA, etc.)
- Experience providing operational support in enterprise environments
- Background working with cloud hosted systems (AWS highly preferred)
- Prior experience supporting federal programs
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
