About The Job
As a Marketing Data Analyst (offline-first Merchant Insights), you will help Gala Circle accelerate growth in NYC’s restaurant market by turning field-collected merchant data into clear segmentation, demand insights, and funnel improvements. This role sits at the intersection of market research + marketing analytics: you’ll build a reliable offline merchant dataset (e.g., revenue range, POS fees, labor costs), develop and iterate tier-based merchant segmentation and profiles, and translate findings into actionable, tier-specific go-to-market guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- First-Hand Offline Data Collection: Visit restaurants in Flushing and Manhattan Chinatown to collect key data such as monthly revenue, current POS fees, and labor costs. Successfully accomplish assigned KPIs and goals that include, but are not limited to, on site restaurant data collections, ensuring data accuracy and traceability.
- Merchant Segmentation & Profiling: Based on offline data, define New York restaurant tiers and profiles by specific monthly revenue, core needs etc.
- Deep Demand Analysis: Combine offline data and merchant interviews to identify demand priorities by tier. Record demand intent in the sales system and propose solutions based on data insights and professional judgment.
- Precision Promotion Alignment: Provide tailored promotion strategies per tier (e.g., bulk procurement cost-saving solutions for Tier A; multi-platform integration to reduce labor for Tier C).
- Conversion Funnel Review: Track daily outreach, intent, and contract data by tier.
- Analyze conversion funnels to identify churn causes (e.g., Tier C churn due to insufficient labor savings).
- Produce a Weekly Data + Profile + Demand Review Report.

Qualifications
- Background in marketing or data analysis; experience in North American restaurant or B2B data preferred.
- Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets, Business intelligence software, and visualization; able to independently build segmentation models.
- Strong understanding of restaurant tiered needs and ability to translate them into actionable marketing guidance.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
- Results-driven mindset; able to optimize promotion strategies using data insights.
