Job Description

Are you a Data Scientist passionate about building AI algorithms that directly impact clinical decision-making and next-generation healthcare products?

We are looking for someone to design, develop, and validate AI algorithms within medical imaging and clinical domains, while also exploring how Generative AI can enhance engineering and quality processes. This is more than just training models - it’s about shaping clinical products, collaborating with physicians, and embedding AI into regulated, real-world healthcare environments.

We’re supporting a global healthcare technology leader as they explore how AI can be strategically integrated into both medical products and internal engineering workflows.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, and validate machine learning and deep learning algorithms for medical imaging applications such as chest X-ray and CT.
  • Work closely with radiologists, cardiologists, and clinical experts to define high-quality ground truth datasets and support structured data acquisition workflows.
  • Train, evaluate, and optimise models using real-world clinical datasets while ensuring robustness and reproducibility.
  • Explore and implement Generative AI use cases to support engineering and quality teams, including documentation automation, release notes generation, and regulatory artefact support.
  • Contribute to feasibility assessments for new clinical AI use cases and help shape strategic decisions around AI investment and capability build-out. Collaborate with quality and regulatory stakeholders to ensure AI solutions align with medical device compliance standards.
  • Communicate technical trade-offs and model performance clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong background in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI algorithm development. Hands-on experience building and validating ML or DL models, ideally within healthcare or medical imaging environments.
  • Experience working with labelled datasets and understanding of supervised learning and ground-truth generation processes.
  • Proficiency in Python-based ML ecosystems such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI and LLM technologies in enterprise settings.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical stakeholders and operate within regulated environments.
  • Strong communication skills and a product-oriented mindset.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with chest X-ray or chest CT imaging algorithms.
  • Exposure to DICOM and medical imaging workflows.
  • Understanding of quality management systems within healthcare. Knowledge of enterprise AI governance, model validation, and regulated deployment environments.
  • Experience collaborating with practicing physicians on annotation or validation initiatives.

Why Join the Remobi community:

  • Fully remote, b2b/freelance contracts
  • Collaborate with world-class talent across Europe’s most exciting sectors
  • Remobi community access with curated content, role alerts, and networking
