Key Responsibilities

Improve the testing landscape and engineering practices across feature teams
Raise product quality against predefined KPIs
Facilitate testing knowledge transfer through coaching, docs, and enablement sessions
Translate requirements into clear, testable acceptance criteria
Integrate tests suites into CI/CD pipelines
Apply mocking and service virtualization to decouple dependencies
Cover essential non-functional aspects and promote observability for faster diagnostics
Ensure environment and test data readiness
Apply risk-based testing and compliance mindset; produce audit-ready evidence
Mentor team members on testing and help them improve their quality output

Job Description


As a Software Engineer in Test at Raiffeisen Group IT GmbH you will have the opportunity to shape the way we perform test automation by actively contributing to our in-house automation solution, helping teams integrate it into their workflows, and coaching them on testing best practices.

 

Your mission:

 

  • Actively contribute to the development of our in-house Robot Framework testing tools (libraries, templates, CLI, pipelines)
  • Improve the testing landscape and engineering practices across feature teams
  • Raise product quality against predefined KPIs (e.g., defect leakage, flakiness rate, coverage, cycle time)
  • Facilitate testing knowledge transfer through coaching, docs, and enablement sessions
  • Translate requirements into clear, testable acceptance criteria;
  • Integrate tests suites into CI/CD pipelines
  • Apply mocking and service virtualization to decouple dependencies
  • Cover essential non-functional aspects and promote observability for faster diagnostics
  • Ensure environment and test data readiness
  • Apply risk-based testing and compliance mindset; produce audit-ready evidence
  • Mentor team members on testing and help them improve their quality output


 

Your profile:

 

  • Engineering mindset
  • Several years in software testing/quality engineering with a strong automation focus
  • Proven expertise with Robot Framework and Python (building libraries, keywords, and maintainable frameworks)
  • Hands-on with Git and CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and test orchestration in pipelines
  • Proficiency with Jira and Zephyr Scale (or similar) for test management, traceability, and reporting
  • Deep experience in API/integration testing and service virtualization/mocking
  • Practical know-how in risk-based testing, compliance/audit evidence, and observability (logs, metrics, traces)
  • Ability to coach teams, communicate clearly in English, and drive measurable quality improvements against KPIs

 

Nice to have:

 

  • Banking or other regulated-industry experience
  • Performance/security testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, OWASP)
  • Playwright/Selenium, mobile testing, and parallel execution (e.g., pabot)
  • Containers and cloud (Docker/Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code
  • Test data management and environment provisioning; BDD practices
