IT & Security Manager
Location: Munich (On-site/Hybrid) Industry: Defense Technology / Robotics Type: Permanent, Full-time
The Mission 🛡️
We are a rapidly scaling, VC-backed defense technology startup in Munich. Our mission is critical: we design and manufacture advanced autonomous aerial systems to strengthen European sovereignty and security.
We have emerged from stealth mode and are ramping up production. Now, we need an architect to build our digital and physical fortress.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on IT & Security Manager to design, build, and run the backbone of our infrastructure.
This is not a standard "helpdesk" role. You will be the Head of Infrastructure & Security in all but name. You will own three critical dimensions:

- IT Operations: Managing our cloud (M365) and on-premise networks.
- Cyber Defense: Hardening our endpoints and preparing us for NIS2 compliance.
- Physical Security: Securing our manufacturing facilities and access controls.
Your Responsibilities
- Own the Cloud: Architect and secure our Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune/Autopilot environment.
- Defend the Network: Implement company-wide defenses, including EDR, SIEM, and vulnerability management across Windows and Linux endpoints.
- Build the Physical Layer: Oversee physical network infrastructure (racks, cabling, fiber) and manage physical access control systems (HID/TKH).
- Compliance & Strategy: Prepare the company for regulatory frameworks (NIS2, ISO 27001) and coordinate external penetration tests.
- Support Engineering: Enable our developers with secure workflows, robust VLANs, and reliable Linux/Windows environments.
- Create Culture: Define the security standards that keep our people and IP safe without slowing down innovation.

What You Bring
- Experience: 3+ years in IT Engineering, Security, or Infrastructure roles.
- The Microsoft Stack: Deep expertise in M365, Intune, Autopilot, and Entra ID is non-negotiable.
- Network Chops: You understand the plumbing—Fiber/Copper, Link Aggregation, VLANs, VPNs, and RADIUS.
- Hardening Skills: You are comfortable locking down both Windows and Linux environments.
- Physical Tech: Experience with physical access control systems and server room hardware.
- Mindset: You are pragmatic. You know how to balance "Fort Knox" security with the speed required by a startup.
- Language: Fluent English is required; German is a plus.

Nice to Have
- Experience in Defense, Aerospace, or Automotive industries (TISAX/ISO 27001 exposure).
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
- Experience with PKI, YubiKeys, and 802.1X authentication.
