We’re hiring six Ruby engineers to join a brand-new squad building a greenfield web platform for genome sequencing.

This is a fresh product, a new team of ~6 engineers (scaling), and a rare opportunity to help shape the foundations of a deeply technical MedTech platform from day one. The work sits at the intersection of biochemistry, genetics, and complex software systems, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, clarity, and long-term quality.

All roles are full-time and fully remote within Australia.

The Role

We’re looking for pragmatic generalist Rubyists. The product demands engineers who can think broadly, collaborate deeply, and take ownership.

Within that, we’re looking to balance the team with different strengths for different roles:

• Strong full-stack generalists
• Some who lean towards infrastructure and performance
• Some who enjoy low-level programming and solving extremely complex problems

What You’ll Work On

• A greenfield Ruby on Rails platform built from scratch
• Complex genome sequencing workflows and scientific logic
• Highly intricate UI/UX and data-heavy user flows
• Performance-sensitive systems and background job orchestration
• Architecture and foundations that will support the platform for years

There is no legacy code, no shortcuts, and no “just ship it” mentality.

• Strong Ruby on Rails experience
