The Role

They are looking for a Senior Consultant - Cloud & DevOps (AWS Specialist) available immediately, on either a permanent or contract basis (outside IR35).

This is a senior client-facing role, requiring someone with a strong consultancy background. Experience within financial services is highly desirable, particularly in regulated, security-sensitive environments. The successful candidate will lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and cloud infrastructure across complex AWS environments, supporting both greenfield development and legacy system transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of AWS-native DevOps solutions
• Architect and optimise Infrastructure as Code frameworks
• Design robust CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
• Enable secure, compliant, and automated cloud delivery models
• Support large-scale migration and transformation programmes
• Implement monitoring and observability best practices

• Provide strategic and technical guidance to enterprise stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

AWS DevOps & Infrastructure as Code

• Expert in Terraform and/or OpenTofu
• Experience building modular, reusable IaC frameworks
• Policy-as-code implementation and governance enforcement
• Multi-environment AWS provisioning and management

CI/CD & GitOps

• Designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Implementing GitOps workflows for declarative infrastructure and application delivery
• Enabling automated build, test, deployment, and rollback strategies

Scripting & Configuration Management

• Strong Python skills (including AWS SDK/boto3)

• Proficient in Bash and/or PowerShell
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or AWS Systems Manager

Monitoring & Observability

• AWS CloudWatch (custom metrics, dashboards, anomaly detection)

• Incident response enablement and performance optimisation

Containers & Serverless

• Experience with Amazon EKS (Kubernetes) and ECS
• Designing scalable container platforms
• Building serverless architectures with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions
