Job Description
Title: AI Architect CoPilot SME
Location: 100% Remote (EST Hours)
Duration: 9-12 Month Contract to Hire
Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
US Citizen and Green Card Holders are only preferred
Pathway to this role seems to be someone with a SharePoint Architecture background who then moved to Power Platform Architect and then took on CoPilot or someone came from AI/ML background and then became SME on CoPilot AI, so understands the Microsoft ecosystem and how it relates to AI.
Core Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expertise in AI within Power Platform:
- Deep understanding of Copilot Studio:
- Building, tuning, and training Copilot agents.
- Deploying agents and integrating them into applications.
- Managing issues like hallucination, model training, and data integration.
- Expertise in AI Builder:
- Integrating AI Builder for natural language processing (NLP) and document processing.
- Example: ingesting PDFs and extracting data into Dataverse for app use.
- Familiarity with native AI functions in Power Platform and their integration with apps.

Cross-Functional Support:
- Work across multiple development teams as an AI consultant and technical advisor.
- Participate in design sessions with customers when AI capabilities are needed.
- Provide governance and innovation guidance for AI adoption.
Hands-On Development:
- If AI workload is low, contribute to app development within Power Platform.
- Expected to have a developer or architect background, with AI expertise layered on top.
Customer & Leadership Engagement:
- Advise leadership and customers on AI innovation opportunities.
- Help define best practices for AI governance in government environments.
Required Skills & Experience
- Deep AI Knowledge in Power Platform:
- Copilot Studio (agent-driven AI).
- AI Builder (inline AI for apps).
- Integration Expertise:
- How to connect AI tools with Dataverse, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
- Government/GCC Experience:
- Critical because AI features differ significantly between GCC and commercial environments.
- Technical Breadth:
- Likely candidates will have evolved from full-stack or SharePoint developers into Power Platform specialists who adopted AI tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Ability to consult, train teams, and communicate AI concepts clearly.
