Job Description
AI Platform Engineer
Contract-to-Hire | Remote (South Georgia preferred) | $45–65/hr contract or $70–85K full-time
We’re a small, fast-moving K-12 software company that’s built an AI platform now being used by a national staffing company backed by private equity. The platform is generating real results — automated contact center ticket resolution, AI-powered RFP document processing, and intelligent texting at scale — and our client wants to expand rapidly.
We need a another engineer who can take well-scoped tasks from our technical lead and ship production-quality code inside an existing, well-structured codebase. You won’t be designing the architecture from scratch — you’ll be building features, new services, and integrations within established patterns. Think of it as: the architect draws the blueprint, you build the house.
This is a 90-day contract engagement with a clear path to full-time if the fit is right. We strongly prefer someone in or near South Georgia / North Florida, but we’re open to fully remote for the right person.
Our platform is a multi-service architecture. Here’s what you’ll be working in:
Backend Services
C# / .NET 10 — ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, clean architecture pattern (Domain → Application → Infrastructure → Web)
AI Engine
Python / Flask — LangGraph, LangChain, multi-provider LLM abstraction (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, AWS Bedrock)
Frontends
React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS — shared component library across all apps
Infrastructure
AWS (S3, RDS), Azure App Service, Bicep IaC, GitLab CI/CD
AI Integration
MCP (Model Context Protocol) connecting AI agents to app backends, SSE streaming, Okta SSO

Twilio (SMS), Zendesk (ticket automation), OpenAI/Anthropic/Bedrock APIs
• Build new microservices following established patterns — our existing apps are templated so spinning up a new service is scaffolding, not invention
• Create and extend MCP tools that connect AI agents to backend data sources and business logic
• Build React/TypeScript frontends for new AI-powered applications using our shared theme library
• Extend Zendesk automation workflows — auto-resolving tickets, routing, AI-assisted responses
• Write and maintain Python-based AI agents with well-defined system prompts and tool configurations
• Work within GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipelines
• 3+ years building production web applications with C# / ASP.NET Core
• Working proficiency in Python — you don’t need to be a Python expert, but you need to read and write it comfortably
• Experience with React and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with at least one LLM API (OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, etc.) — building real features, not just tutorials
• Comfortable working in a small team where you ship fast and iterate
• Experience with LangChain or LangGraph
• Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol)
• AWS deployment experience (App Service, S3, RDS)
• Background in SaaS or multi-tenant platforms

• Located in South Georgia, North Florida, or the Valdosta/Tifton/Albany/Tallahassee corridor
• ML/AI research experience — we’re building on top of models, not training them
• Prior experience in K-12 or staffing industries
• A computer science degree — we care about what you’ve built, not where you went to school
• You’ll work directly with a technical lead who’s shipping AI products that are already in production and generating revenue — not a “research project” that may never see the light of day
• The client pipeline is real and growing — this isn’t speculative, it’s a PE-backed company actively expanding their AI investment
• Small team means high ownership — you’ll see your code in production within days, not months
• Contract-to-hire structure lets both sides test the fit before committing
• Competitive pay for the region, especially for in-person candidates in South Georgia
• Contract: $45–65/hr depending on experience, 90-day initial engagement
• Full-time conversion: $70–85K base salary with benefits
• In-person candidates in the Adel, GA area may receive additional preference
• Remote candidates might need to travel to South Georgia periodically
Send your resume and a brief note about your experience with AI/LLM APIs to g.merwin@yossplatform.com. Bonus points if you include a link to something you’ve built — a GitHub repo, a deployed project, or even a side project that shows how you think about AI-powered applications.
