Senior Product Owner

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our technology organisation and lead the delivery of high-impact features across our squads. You will work closely with Engineering, Architecture, QA, Delivery, and Business stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable product requirements. This role is ideal for someone who is structured, analytical, user-focused, and able to take ownership of the product lifecycle from discovery to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Backlog & Requirements Management

• Own and manage the product backlog for your squad
• Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements
• Prioritise work using data, impact, and business value
• Ensure backlog items follow Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD)

Delivery & Execution

• Work closely with engineering to ensure accurate implementation
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to ensure high-quality releases
• Support sprint planning, refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Ensure efficient delivery flow and remove blockers for the squad

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as the single point of contact for business requests
• Align product features with business goals and compliance requirements
• Communicate progress, timelines, and risks to stakeholders
• Present product updates and roadmap to leadership

Product Strategy & User Impact

• Collect customer, user, and operational feedback to guide decisions
• Support the creation of product roadmaps and quarterly planning
• Validate decisions using data, research, and metrics
• Advocate for user experience and platform reliability

Operational Responsibilities

• Ensure features meet regulatory and compliance standards (where applicable)
• Work with Customer Support, Operations, and Risk teams to understand real-world issues
• Analyse KPIs and guide improvements

Technical Skills & Experience

Required

• 3+ years as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology
• Experience in engineering-heavy environments (APIs, microservices, integration systems)
• Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them clearly
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Analytical mindset with experience using data to make decisions

Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech, payments, remittance, telecom, or banking platforms
• Understanding of transactional systems, KYC/AML, or compliance workflows
• Experience working with distributed teams and multiple squads
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and product discovery tools
• Knowledge of UX principles or service design
