An exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Data Analytics Engineer to join a well-established digital organisation on a contract basis. This business is undertaking a significant evolution of its data platform and is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to support the redesign and optimisation of its core data environment.
In this role, the Data Analytics Engineer will embed within a cross-functional data function, taking ownership of designing and delivering high-quality data models and pipelines that power reporting, analytics, and insight generation. You’ll work across complex datasets, translating business requirements into scalable, well-structured data solutions that are reliable, efficient, and built for long-term use.

The successful Data Analytics Engineer will play a key role in modernising data architecture, improving performance, and ensuring downstream users can access trusted data without disruption. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused contract requiring strong technical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
Data Analytics Engineer – Key Requirements:
- Strong commercial experience as a Data Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer in cloud data environments
- Expert SQL skills, including complex transformations and performance optimisation
- Proven experience designing dimensional data models for analytics and reporting
- Hands-on experience building ELT pipelines with dbt
- Experience orchestrating workflows using Airflow (or similar tools)
- Strong background with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery or Snowflake
- Experience working with large-scale datasets with a focus on accuracy and performance
- Solid understanding of data testing, quality controls, and version-controlled development
