Backend Engineer for Hotel Booking Infrastructure

What You'll Do

• Own the backend systems powering thousands of daily hotel bookings
• Design, build, and operate our core booking infrastructure, including resilient integrations with PMS platforms, channel managers, and payment providers.
• Define and maintain a resilient API layer that powers our React frontend
• Raise the engineering bar through strong system design, clear communication, and technical leadership
• Work directly with the founders to shape the long-term architecture and engineering culture

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with ownership of production systems at scale
• Experience leading technical direction and elevating standards across a team
• Strong expertise in TypeScript and modern backend frameworks (e.g. NestJS or comparable)
• Strong system design fundamentals: API architecture, data modeling, reliability, performance
• Experience running services in production (CI/CD, observability, infrastructure-as-code)

• Proven ability to build and maintain complex third-party integrations
• Strong communication skills

Additional Skills We Value

• Experience in hotel technology (PMS, channel managers, OTAs, booking engines)
• Experience building booking, checkout, or transaction flows
• Familiarity with hospitality distribution concepts (rate parity, availability sync, GDS)
